The Meckley's

Pastor Skip and Son Suk

Pastor Meckley came to us in November 1996.   He is responsible for the preaching ministry, pastoral care, counseling and general church administration.

Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1947, he was raised in Twinsburg, Ohio.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and served three tours in Korea, and one tour in Germany, Pastor Meckley retired from military service in 1988.

Pastor Meckley and his family returned to Ohio in 1989.  They were residing in Munroe Falls, Ohio when he was saved on Friday, July 8, 1994, and subsequently called into ministry in January 1996.

Having driven semi over the road upon retiring from the US Army, he answered the call to begin the Truck Stop Ministry at the Petro Truck Stop in Girard, Ohio, on February 4, 1996.  He answered the call to serve as the Pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church, in November 1996.

Pastor Meckley was married to the former Son Suk Kim of Seoul, South Korea, September 16, 1978.  They have four children and three grandchildren.

Having received a Bachelor of Theology Degree, with Distinction in Pastoral Ministry, in 2002, Pastor Meckley gives priority to the preaching of God’s Word, leading the congregation in witnessing for Christ, and developing individuals in Christian discipleship.  He recognizes the need for a church program that will assist individuals in spiritual development and will equip and release the church to render effective service in the task of leading lost people to faith in Christ.
